After stepping off your flight, members will be met by an expert guide who will be waiting to greet and assist them to their awaiting luxury private vehicles that will transfer everyone to the Design Hotel 101 in the heart of Reykjavik.
After everyone has checked into their rooms and freshened up, we will have lunch at the B5 restaurant, followed by a Maverick welcome session and the afternoon ATV expedition.
Activity 1 – Super Quad Expedition
Following lunch we will be transferred to the beginning of the Super Quad ATV expedition across some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain you will ever see. All necessary equipment and clothing will be provided and the thrill of driving the most powerful 700cc ATV’s through raging glacial rivers and ancient lava fields is a truly once in a lifetime experience.

When the expedition is finished, members will be transferred to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing soak in the geothermal spa.

From there, we will head back to the hotel in time to get freshened up for dinner.
Dinner will be at one of Reykjavik’s newest and hippest restaurants "O". Following dinner our specialist nightlife guides will be on hand to take us around Reykjavik’s best bars and clubs in VIP style.
This morning after breakfast we will be transferred by luxury vehicle to the stunning Thingvellir National Park. The National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most thermally active areas in the world. The Earth’s crust is extremely thin within the Park and this gives rise to one of the most amazing natural sights in existence The Silfra Crack. The Silfra Crack is a part of the American and Euro-Asian Continental Tectonic Plates that are exposed above ground. It is possible to walk and dive between the plates and on this day, we will experience both.

Activity 2 – Caving in Gjabakkahellir
On arrival in the Thingvellir National Park we will be fitted with all the necessary safety equipment before being led by expert guides into the Gjabakkahellir cave system. The Gjabakkahellir Cave system is a perfect example of an Icelandic Lava Tube and is situated in one of the most active volcanic areas in the world. We will climb, crawl, and trek beneath the Earths surface to navigate through the cave system.

Following Caving we will have lunch at a unique Mongolian Tent structure made completely from tree trunks and situated in the beautiful Haukadalur Forest of 1.8 Million trees. Following lunch we will be transferred to the part of the Silfur Crack that runs beneath the waters of one of Iceland’s Volcanic Lakes.
Activity 3 – Diving between Tectonic Plates
On arrival at the Lake, members will be kitted out with dry-suits and either diving or snorkeling gear (to dive YOU MUST BE PADI – CERTIFIED). Once suited up we will take to the cold glacial water for an amazing journey through the craggy sheer faced cliffs and crevasses that will fall away beneath the group when they enter the water. The water has better visibility than at any other dive site and is regarded by divers to be amongst the best dive sites in the world. Bizarrely, as a result of the slow separation of the North American and Euro-Asian Tectonic Plates, you can begin your dive in Europe and finish it in North America. Put simply, the chance to dive between two of the plates that define the Earths Crust is something that you are unlikely to forget in a hurry.

Following the diving / snorkeling, we will return to the hotel via two of Iceland’s iconic sights. We will first visit Gulfoss Waterfall and see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down this double – waterfall into the incredibly deep gorge of the Langjokull Glacier.

![]() |
Following our visit to Gulfoss we will proceed to Geyser. This is the actual “geyser” that gave its name to all other erupting hot springs in the world. You will experience an extremely active geyser, Strokkur, spouting up to 90 feet into the air every 90 seconds.
After freshening up at the hotel, we will have dinner at the Tharvaldsen Bar. Following dinner, our specialist nightlife guides will be on hand to take us around Reykjavik’s best bars and clubs in VIP style.
Following breakfast we will drive to the Solheimajokull Glacier Tongue, passing through areas of stunning natural beauty - volcanic beaches, waterfalls, and uniquely formed lava fields.
Activity 4 – Ice Trekking and Climbing
On arrival at the Solheimajokull Glacier Tongue we will be given all of the necessary equipment for walking and climbing on the glacier. The Glacier Tongue extends down from one of Iceland’s largest glaciers Myrdalsjokull. We start with some trekking in crampons upon the ice field itself before we begin to traverse deep ridges and crevasses. When everyone is comfortable we will attempt to climb ice-walls using crampons and axes on the actual glacier.

Following the Ice Climbing we will have lunch and a business session in one of the most stunning locations in the world.

Activity 5 – Snowmobiling
Following lunch we will continue on to the top of the glacier by ‘Super’ Jeep to the Snow Mobile station. On arrival we will be given all necessary equipment before we board and venture off to the wilds of an Icelandic Glacier. The vast expanse of the glacier is the perfect place on which to race these machines at speed as there is nothing around you at all except undisturbed scenery and incredible views.

Following snowmobiling we will head back to Hotel 101. After freshening up, dinner will be at Laekjarbrekka Restaurant. Following dinner our specialist nightlife guides will be on hand to take us around Reykjavik’s best bars and clubs in VIP style.
Following breakfast we will be transferred by 'Super' Jeep (a 4x4 specially modified with huge tires to be able to drive through raging rivers and to be able to drive to the top of glaciers) to the Thorsmork national park. The glacial area is only reachable by ‘Super’ Jeep or helicopter and at its heart is a Fjord formed 12,000 years ago off of which all rivers in this area of Iceland originate.

Lunch will be a Barbeque, followed by a Business Session in this stunning location. After our business session, we will descend from the glacier and drive back to Reykjavik for some 'chill' time.
Dinner tonight will be at the Fish Market Restaurant. Following dinner our specialist nightlife guides will be on hand to take us around Reykjavik’s best bars and clubs in VIP style.
Following breakfast we will be transferred to a private boat for the short journey to Videy Island (directly off the coast from Reykjavik) and then to The Videy House, which is the venue for our closing session.
Following our business session, we will go back to Reykjavik for lunch. After lunch, we will be transferred to the airport for our return flights or to the special Young Entrepreneurs session.

Now here’s the 'Business' side:
Side note: Don’t worry if you’re a little uneasy about public speaking – this isn’t the same. It’s more like a group of friends coming together who share a love of adventure and business success. You don’t need a prepared powerpoint or anything like that. Plus, another big benefit of you teaching is that you become sharper at that skill.
What’s Meeting The Right Person Mean To You?
Last year we had Jesse James, the TV phenomenon who now brings in more than $200 million a year between his West Coast Choppers, a growing apparel line and TV shows. To give you a glimpse at the caliber of attendees, Jesse gave everyone his own personal email, and here’s what he had to say:
"I was pretty surprised when I came down... I showed up to help them but they're actually helping me. Successful people surround themselves with successful people and people who want them to succeed. And I think, there's no ego's here. All these guys are happy to give up information and help each other out. I think it's a good environment to be in."
Venture capitalist Tim Draper, the investor
behind Hotmail, calls him "brilliant," and fellow
VC Bill Tai describes him as "a cross between
Wile E. Coyote and Yosemite Sam."
Lund was described in a US investors' journal as "what you’d get if you took Ron Conway’s Web 2.0 savvy, mixed in the European sensibilities of Index Ventures, added a dollop of Tim Draper’s pioneering wackiness and marinated it all in RedBull."
Hmm... Pretty much perfect for Maverick!
Morten is the kind of guy that accomplishes more in a month than most of us do in a lifetime. As a self-described Neo-Classical serial entrepreneur, Morten’s impact on the world has left an indelible mark. He has founded and invested in 85 high profile tech start-ups including:
Tenacious, instinctive and viciously self-promoting. His network activity extends from honing the raw brilliance of young UK programmers to masterminding a sit-down with former President Clinton, as a member of Clinton Global Initiative or being personally invited by Sir Richard Branson to his private island. But he balances it all with spending quality time with his wife and three children.
Morten Lund will be our guest during the Maverick Viking Expedition to Iceland and taking part in several of the activities and business sessions. He’ll be sharing his incredible business victories as well as lessons and mistakes learned from his failures.
Optional: Young Entrepreneurs Session
As a Maverick member you’ll have the opportunity to take part in an optional session set aside for teaching young and aspiring entrepreneurs during the Iceland experience. In fact, it’s this unique "giving forward" aspect that many members love the most. The benefits from impacting just one student are immeasurable. I wish you were with us this past May in Aspen, CO because you would have met 12-year old Garrett, who already has a little online business going. He was just one of about 70 young students in the audience (aged 12-18).
If you were there, you would have seen the light bulbs going off in Garrett’s head, while furiously scribbling notes, as members shared their real-world entrepreneurial advice and stories. It was incredibly gratifying walking out knowing we made a potentially profound difference in a few lives there — one that might even be the catalyst for a bigger future than these students ever imagined. In fact, here’s part of the letter we received from 12-year old, Garrett’s mother, Cynthia Goldsmith (now a Maverick member):
"My son was among the young people who attended and I can tell you he hasn’t been the same since. Since your [presentation], he has begun his own website and has even begun to make money with it using some of the advice he received...I believe that the seminar your group so selflessly presented has altered the course of at least one young entrepreneur. I can’t thank you enough."
Iceland’s Economic Challenges Provide Maverick Opportunities:
As most of us are aware, Iceland's economic challenges are BIG. Maverick members have a vast knowledge 'bank' and ideas to share, so we've decided to pool our resources and create a special enhanced program to help young entrepreneurs meet and solve the challenges they face.
The workshop will take place on our final day in Iceland, August 2nd, and run from 12:30 to 5:30 PM. The workshop is optional and will require that you stay an additional night at your own expense (hotel and meals).
Here’s what we’ll be doing there with your help:
It's a great way to give to the community we visit, an important part of the Maverick mission. Please contact Tim Warren for more information on this special program — tim@maverickbusinessadventures.com or (707) 824-2904.
In addition, each of these learning sessions are recorded and will be made available as part of an online learning center accessible to the general public.

A. Absolutely – but if they are part of the adventure they will need to pay the same price for the trip but they will not need to pay for the membership initiation. Or if they’d like to come to the social functions (dinner, cocktail parties, bars, etc) the companion fee is $1,000.
A. As long as you are in moderate shape this adventure should not be a problem. As with any activity -- it's a good idea to check in with your physician.
A. You can if you like, however we cannot guarantee coverage in Iceland. In fact, this is the perfect time to truly disconnect and re-energize yourself when you come back to the office.
